Bristol, New Hampshire: A Great Work-Life Balance

Hub66 is focused on bringing fast, reliable internet service to rural towns and traditionally underserved communities in New England. So many of the towns we serve are quaint, off the beaten path destinations that offer visitors and residents alike a chance to slow down, get outside, and enjoy the things that make this region great.

We want to share the best these communities have to offer, starting with the location of a recent internet expansion project in Bristol, NH. This project is seen as a big opportunity for the town and its recent business development efforts that aim to create a tech corridor that will bring jobs and opportunity to the town and region for years to come.

Welcome to Bristol, NH on Newfound Lake

You’ll find the town of Bristol on the southern tip of Newfound Lake, just off of Interstate 93 between Concord and the White Mountains. This small town has been a hub for industry and tourism for decades. Its downtown was home to a number of mills powered off the fast-moving rivers, including the Newfound and Pemigewasset rivers. A recent revitalization project in its downtown, known as Central Square, has made it a beautiful place to stop for a cup of coffee, a bite to eat, or to shop for the afternoon.

Head down to the lake or into one of the town’s many conservation areas and you’ll find people hiking, fishing, paddling, sailing, rock climbing, or any of the other outdoor activities popular here year-round. There are many businesses, from marinas to outfitters, that supply the active folks of Bristol and those who visit here.

Why It’s a Great Place to Live

Bristol calls itself “a small town with big amenities.” If there’s something you love to do or eat, you’re apt to find it here. There’s a small but diverse food scene with authentic Mexican, Irish, Italian, Greek and Chinese cuisine, along with traditional cafes, diners, pubs, and summer shack fare. There are even multiple breweries and a winery in town.

Bristol aims to be a community where you can get what you need without having to go far. Plus the town is beautiful. Newfound Lake and the surrounding mountains offer great views, and the many scenic roads make even running errands enjoyable.

Peak Work-Life Balance

With more people reexamining their relationship to work, finding the right work-life balance has become a priority. And with a renewed focus on developing the town, people are finding it’s a great place to work as well. In addition to being a great place to live, it’s a great spot to work. Whether from home or in the wide range of jobs available in industries from healthcare to construction to high-tech, including advanced manufacturer Freudenberg. Bristol is also located along NH’s I-93 Tech Corridor, an area the state has identified as an area for growth in the tech sector.

It’s also a welcoming place to own a business. The town has a number of business development initiatives underway and is always looking to meet the needs of the business community.

One of those initiatives, completed in September 2021 in collaboration with Hub66, was to ensure the town has great internet service. The project to expand fiber access was made possible through the public-private partners and federal, state, and local funding. Hub66 is working with Bristol as the Internet Service Provider and we have plans to continue to expand throughout the town.
